Fashion Week might cater to the magazine editors, power bloggers and models but Fashion’s Night Out is all about the hoi polloi. Tomorrow night, anyone can enjoy free drinks and nibbles as well as discounted merchandise while rubbing shoulders with designers. Of course the coolest events are happening in and around the East Village.

Melvin Felix Angela Raiola struts into Patricia Field’s store for the cameras.
Melvin Felix Big Ang on the Bowery today.
Who is that buxom bombshell strutting into Patricia Field’s new store on the Bowery?
It’s Angela Raiola, AKA Big Ang of “Mob Wives,” who we just spotted shooting a scene for her new reality show, which premiered yesterday.
The larger-than-life Ms. Raiola was doing some shopping in preparation for a shoot tomorrow, while a handful of fans looked on.
“I’m doing a drag show at my bar, The Drunken Monkey on Staten Island,” she said. “I’m going to be dressed up as a drag queen.”
If participating in reality TV is your idea of a good time, the drag show is Tuesday night at Big Ang’s bar, and it’s free.

The Patricia Field store, which was on East Eighth Street for many years and then moved to a former kitchen supply store at 302 Bowery, moved a couple of doors over last week and has reopened at 306 Bowery in the designer’s former home.
Ms. Field, who has outfitted everyone from drag queens to club kids to Carrie Bradshaw, first made a home at 306 Bowery in 2005, after many years of living above her previous store in Greenwich Village. She eventually acquired the ground floor of the building behind her apartment, at 298 Elizabeth Street, knocked down its exterior wall, and connected it to her home by building a skylight between the two buildings.
Now that Ms. Field has moved to a smaller place in the Seward Park area, her former Bowery digs are serving as the new location of her boutique. At 4,000 square feet, the bi-level space is nearly twice the size of the previous location, leaving space for more inventory from brands like Boy London, M.Y.O.B., and Noir. Read more…
A sign posted at Astor Place between Broadway and Lafayette Street indicates that The CW’s show based on Candace Bushnell’s “Sex and the City” prequel, “The Carrie Diaries” will be filming in the neighborhood on Sunday. The show will follow a 17-year-old Carrie Bradshaw, played by AnnaSophia Robb, through high school life in Connecticut. Adult Carrie was no stranger to the East Village: She attended Miranda’s birthday party at Lucky Cheng’s during the “Sex and the City” pilot, and one of her clothiers of choice, Patricia Field, is right here on the Bowery.
