Here’s IMDB’s description of the film, which was at one point titled “Low Life”: “An innocent immigrant woman is tricked into a life of burlesque and vaudeville until a dazzling magician tries to save her and reunite her with her sister who is being held in the confines of Ellis Island.” Keep your eyes peeled for the film’s top stars, Marion Cotillard and actor-turned-rapper-turned-actor Joaquin Phoenix, who has appeared in three of Mr. Gray’s other films, “Two Lovers,” “The Yards,” and “We Own the Night.”
