Tonight, Fashion’s Night Out Brings Prosecco, Pierogi, and Designer Duds

Over the next several days, Fashion Week will bring a barrage of exclusive runway shows and parties, none of which you’ve likely been invited to. But then who wants to trek up to Lincoln Center anyway? Fashion Week’s populist spin-off cum kick-off, Fashion’s Night Out, takes place right here in the East Village and elsewhere around town tonight, and everyone’s invited. Here’s our rundown of this evening’s festivities.

Patricia Field Boutique
302 Bowery, (212) 966-4066
From 6 p.m. to midnight, Patricia Field, who famously outfitted the “Sex and the City” gals, will host a party that will double as a celebration of Veselka’s second location across the street. There’ll be a D.J., raffles for cute bags, vodka cocktails (or free coconut water), and pierogi from Veselka.

Prosecco and vodka cocktails will get the party started at this boutique at 6 p.m., with a live performance by Erika Spring of the band Au Revoir Simone following at 8 p.m. There will be giveaways all night long, including gift cards and designer items by Dusen Dusen and Oui, to name a few. All of the store’s designers will be on hand throughout the night and there is a 20 percent-off sale storewide.

70 East 1st Street, (212) 375-1549
The store’s owner, designer Susan Hengst, is about to have a baby, so she won’t be around, but expect prosecco and sweet treats, plus a preview of the fall collection.

The Keeley Gallery
325 Bowery Street, (917) 971-7298
From 6 p.m. till midnight, artist Ryan Keeley’s gallery (which opened in June) will preview an upcoming exhibit on fashion photography (opening September 21). See large-scale mixed-media paintings incorporating images from top fashion photographers and models.

Sohung Designs

The eight designers who run this boutique (and curate its periodical art exhibits) will premiere the work of textile artist Dena Richardson. There will also be a fashion show from 3 p.m. till 9 p.m. and cupcakes and wine from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. Models will sport the collective’s latest designs in the store windows and on the street.

The store has an amazing selection of vintage and handmade jewelry ranging from funky gold pieces to studs made from actual corks. And speaking of corks, wine will flow during a fashion show featuring recycled and vintage pieces from the store’s collection, as well as the wares of local designers.

The Hole
312 Bowery, (212) 466-1100
The gallery’s shop will be open till midnight, selling new merchandise from the Dearraindrop line. We’re told the art collective’s co-founder, Joe Grillo, may improvise a sound art piece.
