Is a $3,500 One-Bedroom a Bargain?

Go figure: The East Village has made AM New York’s list of “5 Manhattan nabes you can actually afford,” along with Chinatown, Yorkville, Morningside Heights, and Washington Heights. The roundup assures that “decent” one-bedroom apartments go for a thrifty $2,500 to $3,500 per month. A bargain, say you?
